Creation of stprov OS package / iso?

Suggested by @nisse in !17 (merged), probably related to #1 and #7. If anyone has concrete ideas (or requests) on how to move forward with this, please shoot. The spectrum is probably: just document how (here or elsewhere) to providing a script for doing it or even considering such an OS package part of what we're releasing.
